Florida Halloween hayride crash injures several, sends man to Alabama hospital

Multiple people were injured when a hayride carrying 30 passengers was struck by another vehicle on Halloween night.

Several people were thrown from the hayride when an SUV collided with the rear of the trailer carrying the passengers about 6 p.m. in Washington County, Fla., a Florida Highway Patrol press release states.

Several injured people were taken to local hospitals. The driver of the SUV was taken by helicopter to Southeast Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama.

The press release states that the vehicle pulling the 24-foot hayride trailer was traveling east on Corbin Road at the time of the collision. The 46-year-old Chipley man driving the SUV was traveling behind the hayride.

The SUV did not slow down and the front of the vehicle collided with the rear of the trailer, the press release states.
